Amazon sellers: Boxset postage

Hi All
I listed my first DVD box set on Amazon the other day and was surprised to see that the postage costs are the same whether for a single DVD or a box set. Obviously, some box sets are huge so I fired off an email to customer service suggesting that they introduce a box set postage price at a higher rate than a DVD.
They replied today to say 'thanks for the feedback', so I'm thinking it may have a positive impact if we all contacted them about it.
I do think it's completely unfair and hopefully a flood of requests for two rates would help them to see it the same way.
What do you think?

but as Amazons a business like most others surely they would @Raise' the price fopr boxsets as opposed to lower the singles?
I dont know a great deal about Amazon to be honest as never listed there?0 -
Sorry but the complications of working out what a box set should be (2 disc package for instance
) is to fiddly. They don't do it for books, my 'pet keeping' 18 page books have a set £2.75 postage as do my 3kg* historical books.
The good thing about Amazon is that you get to see exactly what you are going to get net after all fees before you list so you need to adjust your start price to account for postage as well.
You might get some more tips on the long Amazon thread, it explains how you just use the postage as another payment when working out your start price.

* I really do have 3kg books, normally I wouldn't bother listing them as I can barely lift them to pack them but these are selling in the region of £50-£80 and I can send them 1st class for £8.22I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You've pretty much it the nail on the head there. Why would Amazon lower their revenue, when they could increase it instead?fatherazhara wrote: »but as Amazons a business like most others surely they would @Raise' the price fopr boxsets as opposed to lower the singles?
Amazon's postage does need looking at though, we've very recently started selling single Pokemon cards on there (testing the water to see how well they do, to see if it's worth getting a Pro-seller account thingy, and also to see if we can get enough sales before 1/11), and Amazon charge the buyers nearly £5 in postage (toys category). Bearing in mind we only have to put the card in a plastic sleeve, a hard plastic toploader and an envelope with a basic stamp, that's about £4 more than we'd charge if we set the P+P ourselves
