HP Updates!?

I have a blue and white box pop up on my laptop every now and then and it says "HP Updates". What is HP and do I really need to download the System check for Notebook Pc's?

I assume you have a Hewlett Packard PC or Laptop (or possibly printer).
If so it is HP's automatic updates system for providing you with driver updates for your particular hardware.

They can possibly be useful, especially if they have found a bug in the existing driver. You can usually progress further where it does a scan and tells you what is available (and why).

    Only joking, or am I?

I've got a Hewlett Packard printer and get updates from time to time.

Yes, but HP (not the sauce) own Compaq
  • I have a HP desktop, and my wife's laptop is HP, so we get this update window from time to time. Mostly I just cancel it, but occasionally let it run, and it sometimes finds updated drivers for graphic cards etc. More often it says no updates available.

So do you think I should run it? Listening to what you say about Compaq and HP, sounds as if it won't hurt!
  • No it won't hurt to install the updates at all. Go ahead and run it!
