I went along to Speke Hall today with the kids. It is a fascinating place. However my praise is for the staff. A number of them are volunteers, and are 'older' staff. They really came across as being interested and helpful.
It was really good. If all staff were like that we'd be in a better world.

I'd like to add Warwick castle to this list - brilliant place and great staff who were more than happy to entertain, and were very knowlegeable and friendly to us.0

I loved speke hall when I went on a school trip at 11, 50 years ago. It had the same good ambience then0
