Faulty Mic on DS no receipt is bank statement ok?

My partner bought a Ds for his daughters birthday from Argos in May. The microphone has stopped working ( she's quite upset she cant call the dogs on Nintendogs!)
He cant find the receipt but has a bank statement showing he purchased the item on 6th may for 97.79. (obviously bank statements dont show individual items)
Will Argos accept this as proof of purchase? he only wants a replacement

They are really good Argos. The bank statement will be fine. They can (and will) check it with their system.
