received order that was cancelled

Hi,

DP ordered something and was mucked around from the start and waited for over a month for it to be sent, in the end cancelled the order. Money had not been taken, and a few days later it arrived anyway...

I know this is morally suspect, but legally can he keep it? I am not sure whether he can or should but he wanted me to ask...

Does he still want it? If so he needs to contact the supplier and tell them so and tell them they can go ahead and take the money. Easy-peasy.

Tell them you have recieved the goods and they have 30 days to arrange collection at your convenience or you will dispose. Your not a warehouse.

Thats what we used to do with repaired brown goods that werent collected

Legally you only need to take reasonable care of them for 21 days under DSR. I don't see that you can treat these as unsolicited (you DID order them, albeit a now cancelled order), so can't keep them.

As said above, notify the trader (in writing) and state that you will hold for 21 days. After that, you can leave them in the garden for them.
