Yup I too cover the frying pan with a lid for a short while ,but not too long or it overcooks0

We were camping a few weeks ago and when I came to do the breakfast fry up I realised I'd left my flipper at home so had to use the lid off the beans tin
It worked really well, even better than when I do them at home, I was proud of my lovely eggs

I cook a fried egg for my daughter in the morning but i don't use any fat in a non-stick pan. I put it on a low to medium heat and it does take a while to cook but it makes a lovely fried egg and she has never guessed i do it the healthy way.0

I use oil/fat, and I get some kitchen roll on the plate and put the egg carefully on that when it comes out of the pan. Then, with another piece of kitchen paper, I dab at the top of the white stuff to get the excess fat off, then gently move the egg off the kitchen paper and onto the plate.0

Another vote for steam-frying eggs.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

When the egg is nearly done I put the pan under the grill to cook the top, it only takes a minute.
Perfect eggs every time!0 -
I also use the lid method. I put the egg in a hot non stick frying pan and as soon as the egg goes in the heat goes right down. It should set more or less immediately and then the lid goes on until the white is cooked but the yolk is runny.0

I've never heard of frying an egg with the lid on so may have to give it a go. Mind you, I had a poached egg the other day, and forgot how yummy they were .....! MMMMMMMA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

calleyw - I cook eggs this eway as I'm following Slimming World - the answer if to turn the heat down once you've put the egg in the hot pan and cook it very very slowly. I don't like runny white's, though i don't mind the yolk a bit runny and this is the only way can do it (and I do it nearly everyday)0

Another vote for steam fried!! I have a small frying pan and stick my plate on top and cook it on a low heat, then nice warm plate to eat my perfectly cooked egg off!0
