Faulty goods

I bought a pair of waterproof motorbike boots from a well known retailer. I originally bought them in september 2007. In november 2008 I returned them as they were leaking and made my feet wet in the rain, no questions, straight exchange. The new boots are now leaking as well, they are only 11 months old, but the shop is refusing as the original purchase was over 2 years ago. I only see the fact that a 2 year warranty is expired on a pair of 11 months old boots.
What are my rights?

Under the Sale of Goods Act,these boots are faulty./not fit for purpose. You are entitled to some redress. Its irrelevant when the original pair were bought.Did you speak to a Manager?
The boots are definitely "waterproof" not water resistant?

Did you speak to a Manager. I think they are getting confused with guarentee, and SOGA.

The manager was right next to the sales assistant. I really need an extract from the sale of goods act, then they cannot fob me off. I will start correspondence with their head office on monday, though.

    One other question.
How many pairs of waterproof boots do you have. When they get wet, surely they have to be allowed to dry out?
