Barclaycard and claiming under Section 75

Hi,
Hope someone can give me some advice.
I bought some furniture from a local furnituremaker, and paid for it on my barclaycard. Unfortunately he went bankrupt. I wrote to barclaycard, using the template provided on this website. They've written back saying that I need to get a letter from the appointed liquidator stating that there are no funds available to pay me back. Does anyone know how I would go about finding out who the appointed liquidator is ? Also is this something I really have to do, or is this Barclaycard being difficult ?
I have spoken to a number of people at Barclaycard and they seem to be sticking to their story. I just want my money back !
Any information would be most appreciated.

I got into this situation - try changing your complaint to failure to deliver0

I agree with oldfella - they should be the ones getting in touch with the liquidators trying to get THEIR money back after refunding you.0

Hello,
Was wondering if anyone had some advice for me. Am thinking of buying a conservatory online. The company is a web based company so there is no showroom as such to visit. They want 50% of the payment up front and the rest before delivery. Now if I pay by credit card and do no receive the goods where do I stand?0 -

Hi I claimed £12,000 from Capital One last year under section 75, I had paid a manufacturer to produce my designs for my clothing line, and upon the agreed delivery date he was jailed for fraud (on a separate business matter) and the business just stopped trading since he was in jail for 12 years. I claimed on the basis that he was in breach of contract for non delivery of goods I had paid for, and Capital One were amazingly co-operative, refunding me all the money within about 10 weeks of writing the initial letter. I was fully anticipating a battle with them.
As said by other posters, state that the furniture company has not delivered goods within an agreed timescale and is therefore in breach of contract. It is then THEIR job to chase the debt, not yours. Ive heard stories of some card companies giving people the runaround in the hopes they'll just give up and forget about it, so if in doubt check with OFT what evidence they can and cannot expect you to produce.0
