Pay-pal problem, no evedance of payment.

Hi, i sold an item on the 5th of October, the buyer payed by pay-pal straight away which showed up on my e-bay as 'payed by pay-pal on the 5th october', any way the customer was not happy with the item and we agreed to a part refund, i went to e-bay to 'view pay-pal payment' and there's no payment showing up for this person or for the amount payed. I have contacted the customer to check payment has left her account and i am waiting for a reply. Does any one know what has happened to the payment, has she payed? should i still refund her or wait until its sorted out?

Go into your paypal overview and check on the status. If the payment is there then it will show the status. Any problems then phone paypal.

Hi, i have tried that and no sign of payment, very odd. I will try and find the e-mail from pay-pal when she payed, looks like i will have to phone them.

ok, i have found the e-mail, i clicked on transaction id number, it takes me to pay-pal, at the top of the page it says 'You can only view the Transaction Details of transactions listed in your History log.'?

Do you have more than one paypal account?

Clear your cookies, and try again, it could be an error caused by having multiple accounts.
Failing that, it's possible she never paid and just forwarded you a previous payment email (that was sent to someone else), and edited the text to match your item. Then, she marked the payment sent on ebay, and she hoped you didn't check paypal for the actual payment before posting the item.

I think you have guessed it

I feel really silly now, OH had used my e-bay to list something and had entered his pay-pal address, i didn't know he had changed it so i hadn't changed it back and all my payments have been going in my husbands account :mad:.

So i will be having a word with him later as he now has a very healthy pay-pal account.
