Hi There
Does anyone own the new Mondeo, or has anyone driven the 1.8TDCI.
I am changing my company car but in these tough times it has to be a second hand one.
I currently have a Focus 1.6TDCI which is a bit lacking in torque but wondering if the Mondeo will be OK. You get a lot of equipment and comfort but not sure about the perfomance. I am not a speed merchant but don't fancy driving a slug either.
Many thanks

Max torque:
Focus: 260Nm at 1750 rpm
Mondeo: 320Nm at 1800 rpm
Not much difference in 0-60 time, both about 10.5 seconds
Edit: above Focus figures assumes 109PS engine
90PS engine produces about 215Nm max torque, 0-60 just over 12 secs"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Don't know if it is relevant but I always look for 140/150 Bhp when buying/renting/leasing a car of that class.
I had a 106 Bhp Diesel Passat and it was slower than an asthmatic snail.
136 TDi Peugeot 407 and 150 Saab 9-3 TiD were quite nippy though.0 -
Thanks for the replys
The other option is a 2007 VW Golf 2.0TDI GT 140
Probably lacking the comfort and equipment levels but no snail I guess0
