Hi all, I'll be making a trip to Tesco or Halfords later to buy some, but in the meantime, anyone seen any offers on economy jump leads suitable for a 1200cc engine (VW Polo), will need to buy them late this afternnon or early tomorrow so any suggestions appreciated.

To be honest, " economy " jump leads are probably not really money saving, they probably will not last very long, there is a huge load on them when in use, probably better to spend a bit more and get some decent ones, that will last a life time.

they might be ok for a small petrol engine. i used ones similar to this years ago, it was easier at the time to borrow them from someone rather than go to get my own, they were connected to a diesel van trying to start another diesel engine, they were rubbish, after waiting 5 mins to give the battery a charge they still wouldnt start, so i walked to my own van to get my own jump leads, much heavier mine are about 25mm diameter cable, with heavy duty clamps, put them on and it started straight away. so i found they were no good for 2.5l diesel engines.
