Trust Account for Grandchildren

  • Yes it was Abbey legal team that told us this. The main problem is my Mother 84 does not like change of any sort so trying to get her to do other than what she has already done is a nightmare.

Also because of the data protection act the Abbey will not discuss this with me. My sister has passed on this information as she is an executor to my Mothers will. My Mother and Sister have an appointment with the Abbey at the end of the month to discuss what to do with the bonds once they mature early next year. I just wanted to see what information I could find out before this meeting.

It would be much better for my Mother to sign over the accounts to each of the Grandchildren and us as parents make sure the money only goes on either further education or a deposit on a property. I do not think she will be up for this though.
