Went for a birthday and christmas shopping. Spent £140.39 (but did buy a pair of trainers for my DH £40). I have to budget £20 per person for Christmas and endehavour to stick to it but it does add pretty quickly.
Getting wind up we have no kids and have a large family and we end up spending quite a bit on some. We do get christmas list issued with toys at £25 and more and if I express an opinion too loud I could be perceived like a tight person.

Ouch Karom, that's a bit unfair. I think they've got a cheek to give lists and things, that's really not what giving's about!
Pooky, don't have much to say other than hugs to you and I hope things get sorted soon.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Evening.
How are thee?
funny day for me...trying to put certain thoughts behind me but not easy really.
*sigh*Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Tired, I tried having a nap but every time I was falling asleep sister rang about tonight. What's up?
Karom, 'just' a cheque for 100 euros?! How dare they specify an amount, that's awful, don't they realise how horrible and materialistic they're being? Not to mention they must be bringing up really selfish bratty kids if they think demanding so much is the norm. Sorry if that's offensive, I'm just really annoyed on your behalf!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Contemplating a nice evening in, got Watchmen on dvd rental to look forward to.
Ames, I am not offended. I brought the courage to email back and saying no (told him I was looking for something more personal and no looking to put this amount of money). got answer back eventually that football stuff should be good. At least he got the message that I am not a cash cow

Good for you! I know it's hard to stick to your guns, my family believe it's the price tag not the thought that counts, so I always have to look for something that seems more expensive than it is, but even though I'm a right wimp when it comes to family even I'd have put my foot down there!
Enjoy Watchmen, I really want to see it. I got sky movies a couple of years ago cos it's cheaper than going to the cinema once a week, but it means I have to wait aaaaages for films I want to see, Watchmen was one of the ones that almost tempted me back into the cinema!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
