Natwest have my £30,000 still... help please quickly

Options
Just found out NatWest were not satisfied with my sig on cheque that was heading for BM for a 1 year Bond so returned now back to my NW 'pants' saving account Just spoke with them on the Phone and they are not helping. It is going to take another week with loss of my interest of course...This started out on the 6th May and of course I realised I would loose a good few days interest.. the money was transfered from Egg to Natwest then a cheque sent to BM...Any help advice please...I would like to take my £30,000 out of NatWest now and just put it somewhere quickly to make some fair interest at least...I see the security side of this but I feel so cross having Banked with NW for 40Years.

And how would you have felt after banking with them for 40 years if someone had syphoned off the funds never to be seen again?
My advice is to stop the cheque, and start again making sure that Nat West have an up to date copy of your signature.

Yes - it's a 'quick and dirty' solution to bounce it.

On the one hand a £30k cheque is probably outwith the norm value of your transactions. But, on the other, it's presumably the next consec cheque and will be endorsed with the BM crossing stamps / audit trails from their processing. So it clearly was not heading to Nigeria or wherever?

It's reasonable - if they have some vestige of doubt - to contact you?? Not bounce it - which is their preferred line of least resistance. You just don't get the staff these days!!

Will BM not take a Debit Card - or does it have to be a cheque to initiate.

I actually done a fresh sig in Feb of THIS YEAR because I was trying to take out just over £1600 cash which was trust me with-out the 'drama' at the time a very very bad experience and only all came back this morning....I have now opened a Portman Bond for a year at 5.25% which is fine right now(because I feel these % will increase gradually now) and with a local branch that I can walk into if necessary rather than try to communicate by phone which I have myself found frustrating with BM already. I do not need to stop the cheque because it has been rejected and the money is still at this time in NatWest until cleared...This time having had a long session with our local Bank Manager(Who actually turned out to be a human being...amazing how we got on so well..but I would not leave my precious £30,000 there for anything but the best rate I could get) the cheque has been numbered for where it is going and ID has been photocopied and passed with honours!!!!
thanks for replies but sorted out myself even though I had lunch at 4.00pm because of it all...................
