Will My Home Insurance Pay Out??

Hi,
On Wednesday we returned home to find we have been burgled. Not To Suriously, a LCD TV and a iPod were taken.
The police were called and a crime number given.
It seems the burgler used a master key to my appartment and two weeks ago the same thing happend to another appartment in the block. Now all the locks have been changed in the full building.
My question is will my insurance company pay out, even if a key was used. I know my Landlady is at fault... she seems to have given the master key to a lot of people over the years. But I don't want to fall out with her as i've only been in 4 months.
It was not forced entry but it was not my fault.
I've been with my insurance company 3 years and this would be my first claim.
Would be intrested to see what you all think.

Make the claim. If it fails and you know your landlady was at fault, themn make the claim against her. Your difficult point is that the claim should fail if you knew she had made you vulnerable, so how did you not know before the event but you know now?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Does the door they gained entry through just have a normal Yale type key by any chance?0

its not a yale lock with a lach to keep it open, like in older homes, its a double lenght lock which you can 'double lock' the building is only 18months old0

It might be worth asking this question in the insurance forum - there are some very knowledgeable people in there.0

oh right, yer, if a modorator can move this thread into that forum, that would be fandabbiedoezy0

It could be that they "bumped" the lock instead of having a master key.
Providing you do not have an exclusion on your policy stating only theft claims that have signs of a violent or forcible entry then you should be ok0
