Pataks triple rip-off!

Just bough some new Pataks Jalfrezei sauce.
The new jar sizes have 40g less sauce in them (500g comapred to 540g).
On top of that they've change the receipe so the main ingredient is now water instead of actual food.
Just to really rub it in, they've also massively reduce the quantity of many of the more expensive ingredients (eg peppers) and replaced them with cheap stuff such as onions.
It goes without saying that the price has of course stayed exactly the same and of course the new version tastes like crap.
All other varieties are 40g smaller too so stock up on the old sizes if you can find them

Is 40% of 540g really 500gworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Just to be annoying.... it would be 324 Grams if it was 40% less sauce!!!
BUT anyways... I would write to pataks and complain about the new jar size and food content!!! you may end up with some money back or free products, i am sure if you were to be given some free sauce the quality would then taste much better!!! lol

Sorry i meant 40g, fixed that -though perhaps it's not such a mistake afterall as a 40% must be close to the overall scale of the rip off if you combine all the extra added water with the smaller jar size and the poorer quality ingredients.0

I should add that all Pataks curry sauces are now 40g smaller, not just the Jalreezi so stock up on the old stuff if you can still find it!0

Just had a look on tesco.com. They have the 540g jar and the ingredients for this are identical to the one on sainsburys.co.uk, which is only 500g.
tesco link, can't get one for sains, sorry.
It's only a game

No, the ingredients have definitely changed - it's really really obvious. The original recipe is incredibly thick and VERY tasty, whereas if you get the new jars the are just full of runny liquid (the stuff barely moves in the old jars as it is so thick - you can't even tip it all out). You really couldn't imagine a bigger change.
Here is the new smaller jar:
And here is the original:0 -
Not meaning to be picky, but are you sure you're not comparing the paste with the sauce? I get Pataks curry pastes and they are really thick, "turn the jar upside down and nothing comes out" thick, but the tins of sauce (don't remember buying jars so might be different) are much thinner.

Meanwhile pastes, which are currently the sector leader with a 92% market share are now available with reduced salt and fat levels, in accordance with forthcoming GDA guidelines.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
No, I've got an old jar here - they are both cooking sauces (and none are from the premium range either)
Ingredients
12% red and green peppers (compared with 9% for the new recipe)
5% creamed coconut (as well as dessicated coconut) - new recipe has no creamed coconut whatsoever!
Nutrition:
Old recipe has 1.7g of protein per 100g, new has only 1.2g
Old has 9.7g of carbs, new has 7.6g
I.e. they've taken out lots of tasty stuff - coconut and peppers, and added oil and water instead. Oh and the salt level has barely changed - old recipe is 0.31g per 100g, new is 0.28g.
Given that you can even add a little water to the old recipe as it is so thick, that means no difference really.0
