re-calculating gas boiler usage
Options
Hi, Does anyone know of a simple way to calculate how much a gas boiler costs to run central heating for 1 hour?I have an imperial gas meter, which if I am correct measures cubic meters Or, is it a therm ? , but how do you convert that to Kwh.I have tried running it for 1 hour, checking meter to see the reading I.E 3654-3655, does that mean I have used 1 cubic meter of gas. or therm ?If so, how does one convert that to Kwh and multiply by tariff charge.

If you have an imperial meter, each unit will be 100 cubic feet.
If you have a metric meter, each unit will be 1 cubic metre.
1 unit on an imperial meter is about 33kWh.
1 unit on a metric meter is about 11kWh"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
