Even better! Shame I already have an A&L account.

I've had no problems with my A&L account in over a year. However Abbey (also part of Satander) is a different story. I hope I never have a reason to contact customer services again!

Could this also be used with a referal for another £25?

Are you saying that because you have had bad personal experiences with them? I was under the impression that they had survived recent banking disasters relatively unscathed:
In an age of billion dollar losses and complex financial assets, Santander's fortunes speak to the advantages of a simpler approach. Spain's largest bank "lends to their clients, takes deposits from their clients, and runs a network of branches," says Antonio Ramirez, analyst at investment bank Keefe, Bruyette & Woods in London. "It's quite simple, quite traditional." Focused on retail banking, with limited investment banking operations, and with a long-buoyant domestic market to lean on, Santander side-stepped the toxic assets caught up in the collapse of the U.S. sub-prime mortgage market.

TBH, both A+L and Abbey are pretty poor from my experiences as well, worth opening an account with, switching a few payments too then closing once the 100.00 has been paid though. ( Cashback Site payments get made earlier, again from experience)

A&L were absolutely awesome when they were still a Building Society, but they certainly went downhill after they became a bank...

Something else to be aware of: Cashback takes 4-6months to be paid on this. I opened my account with them in June and was told that it tracks and gets paid at £0.00: Then after 3 months of that happening, it will show £45, which will then be paid.

I think you have to pay £500 in for at least 3 months before getting the £100 from A&L so maybe the cashback allows for this as well. I'd actually forgotten about it when I got the £100 paid in when I switched!

    Any answers?
Could this also be used with a referal for another £25?

Can an individual get a total of £170?

Does anyone have follow up on this point? -
    - can an individual get £25 for being referred by a friend
    (referring friend also gets £25)
    £100 for switch from A-L
£45 from topcashback.co.uk (better tracking record than quidco, rate checked today - 13/10/09)

Also, can I get the £25 for referring a friend if I have a cash ISA with A-L? (Already taken out this year's subscription, so wondered where £25 would be paid, since I prolly don't qualify for the £100)
