dvla will now arrange collection for un taxed cars. (even from your drive unless sorn has been done) then they will hold the car for 14 days till owner collects NOT YOUR PROBLEM THEN.0

Thanks all - much appreciated. Donkey Oddball (as the buyer is now known) seems not to be bothered by talk of storage charges or DVLA collections. In fact he asked me how much we'd charge and agreed £10 a day. He's not local and came 80 miles by bus to do the weird purchase in the first place so I can't get the money from him.
He turned up yesterday to collect it - this time with the right battery - but had left the keys at home.
It is under a SORN Tommed, but that was helpful. Believe SORNs are not transferable to a new owner though so reckon that's what I'll organise :-)0 -
i'm actually very worried that this man is allowed to drive on our roads! He clearly isn't intelligent enough to drive.0

get him to sign a disclaimer thingy saying he took it at a certain time/date then any tickets etc are his problem not yours unless the DVLA have updated the records and he/she is the RKSealed pot challenger # 10

If you have his name and address put it on the files at DVLA as the vehicle is sold and has a new owner. Tell him to take it or you will call a scrap dealer to remove it for him.
If he kept coming to my door I'd let him know that it is unacceptable and that failure to remove the car would result in you scrapping it and keeping the money.:T0
