Credit Card Services

I have just been called by Visa Credit Card Services from a New York Office offering me to the chance to amalgamate all my cards onto a fixed for the life of the card 6.9 int ......... according to a new plan by government apparently.

Warning bells rang and reluctantly I have given name and address and account no only - I refused to give card details start date/expiry date and 3 digit no from back ?

Have I done wrong and people are aware of this and it is OK ?

should I be ringing the card company in question about this call?

I got a name and agent no but ...............

Without going any further she has hung up as she needs the info to validate I meet criteria ?

Anyone else had these calls ?

Yes. No experience of this personally, but from what you say, I very much doubt it's genuine.
People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.
