Waltham Forest PCNs

Hi
I have appealed in writing to Waltham Forest council to 4 fines i received. I sent the appeal letter on the 20th August but i still havent had any reply and its now the 9th October. Does anyone know if there is a certain time span that the council have to reply to me. I have proof from the post office that i sent the letter recorded delivery so surely that cant come back and say they never got it.

You need to explain whether you were appealing directly on receipt of hand served PCNs (informal challenge and no time limit for response -- and actually no requirement to respond at all)

    Or -

appealing in response to 4X Notice to Owner, in which case they have 56 days to respond (clearly exceeded).

If it was the former then you will need to wait for the NtOs. They have a max six months to serve those.

You also need to give some background. Why appeal? What circumstances? Don't waste appeals with irrelevances.

  • Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing a backlog of correspondences of 10 to 12 weeks. The case will be logged on to the system and will remain on hold until we reply to you by Royal Mail. All cases will be dealt in chronological order, therefore do not expect a prompt response and refrain from writing again (unless you are supplying further information or evidence) as this delays our response times. We are hoping to resolve this situation in the very near future.
  • Sorry I just posted the above message from the waltham forest appeals website but managed to post it without this comment. It would appear that they have served a load of PCNs and it will take ages to clear. Goodluck
