Bit of a naughty question

Hi All,

Right strange question, but I have stock that I need to sell via ebay. So far so good. However this stock has already been sold at an agreed price verbaly but to satisfy my contractual agreement I must be seen to sell the items on ebay. However I dont really want to pay ebay £35 for the privalige.

Is there anyway for the price of the item to be hidden, so for instance I can sell it for £1 and the buyer pay the other £2000+ owed in cash?

Don'k think you can unless you make the auction pre approved for exmple and put the price in the description that you want and goods to be paid on collection / delivery but don't think it would work

Some people bump the cost up of the postage to avoid fees but this is against ebay rules

Someone else maybe able to give you further info but im stumped on this one

List as a best offer item. Then only accept that persons offer?

Then send the invoice with required postal insurance of the £2000 or whatever.

Try reading the sticky's...what you're doing is against the rules of this board..........and not what we're here for..............if you don't want to abide by eBay's rules..DON'T USE eBay!!!

You can list it as BIN or Best Offer (BIN at around £1) ad ten make sure the buyer knows about this so he/she can make the offer asap.

Then when it's all going through Paypal (presuming your accepting payments via paypal) add the additional fees. You should be able to do this.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

What you could do is open a shop and list it for 3p, the first month of a shop is free, then close the shop after the deal - breaking no rules then and cost you 3p but the fvf is a little higher.

Does it have to go through ebay? You can still accept paypal without using ebay.

I've probably misunderstood but here is my stab at an answer. If you need to show an end price on ebay of (for example) £2000 then you will need to pay the fees to list at that price as a BIN and get your buyer to buy.

If it merely needs to be shown as sold on ebay regardless of price then do as others have suggested and list it at a 99p BIN for pre approved bidders only, get the buyer to BIN it and then add the remaining balance to the invoice.

..........you could always pay someone to do a non paying bidder, that way you get your final value fees back, they get a strike, but as they've been paid, everyone's happy

start it at 99p, that way you pay very little in listing fees, get them to bid up to 2k

That would be hard to do without shilling. You can't "bid up to £2000" by yourself!
I think this thread is descending a bit too far into a discussion on rule-breaking now.

Do you have to sell on Ebay? What about places like Ebid which don't charge you to list items?

If you really need to show it on Ebay, you could, in theory, sell the item for £1 and charge £2000 postage cost Don't think ebay will be too happy though and they'll most likely take it down if they notice it.

Thanks for that helpful qoute Mike, Really advanced everyones knowledge did that. If you haven't got anything nice to say, dont say it.

As for the helpful advice given to everyone else, thanks muchly. I like the look of ebid. It could be just the ticket
