auction snipers

hi all,

hope everyone had a good chrimbo and happy new year!

just been surfing around for a free auction sniper and came across https://www.cniper.com - has anyone used this?? there isn't really much information about it on the site

if anyone knows of any others they can recommend then please do! I'm not even bothered if it's free for 3 snipes/week for example, as i don't do that much buying on ebay

Thanks in advance :)

    be crafull my friend

dont let the word free cloud your vision or tug at your greed strings, things are generally never free or there is a catch.

you may end up on someones list and get bombarded with emials.

I don't know about the sniper you've got, but a well known one is available to try at https://www.auctionsniper.com.

Personally, I get such a buzz from occasional DIY sniping that I've never tried a "machine".

An item I was selling was won using a sniper, next day, I got an e-mail asking me to give my opinion on its effectivness :-/

  • I also use auctionsniper; in some ways I don't like to use or support sniping, but unfortunatly it's somewhat self-perpetuating, and if I don't, someone else will win the item by sniping me.

If anyone wants to start up an autionsniper account, send me an IM and you'll get (I think) 6 free snipes. This will also earn me some free snipes, so whilst I'd appreciate those, also feel free to go direct to the site, as I think you'll still get your free snipes.

The more these snipers are used, the more you will find traders starting off their auctions for the true value of the item and not 0.99p. :-/

I used to start my stuff off at 0.99p just to get people interested, but I don't see the point now if snipers dont bother bidding till the last second. :-/

I'd prefer to give ebay more money than risk losing an item for 0.99p to a sniper >:(

  • Not having used snipers I can't comment on the effective ness of them.

    BUT.

Correct me if I am wrong here - If you put a maximum bid into them they bid in small increments up to your maximum bid (?).

Which when you think of it is a total waste of time as with eBay and all other auctions you place your maximum bid and they increase the bid in smaill steps until your maximum bid. They don't increase the bid up to your maximum right away, they only increase it to the next step in the ladder.

Either way you don't pay any more than your agreed maximum bid, but using eBay you can't lose the bids due to slow networks or other snipers.

I use Auction Sentry and it works well.

A friend uses Paragon Ebay Bidder - not used it myself but might be worth checking.

    :)

    LittleRedDemon,

The way it works is that the sniper places your maximum bid, seconds before the auction closes.

If the current bids are higher, you still lose the auction, but if the existing bids are lower you win and there is no time for anyone watching to beat your bid.

    R.
Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

    I use www.snip.pl.

However, it used to be free but now they charge if you use it excessively (rightly, in my view, even if it is annoying!)

I have used this one successfully; three free per week and a donation if you save money it was useful when bidding for two items ending within minutes of each other.
