Genuine item pictured copy sent

I bid for some software, doesn't say it was a copy, pictured the genine article, but have received a copy.

I paid 2.5 times the price of advertised copies (back ups;) ) as I wanted genuine software.

Is this acceptable, should the advert say it is not the genuine product?

Did the listing say it was an 'original/ genuine copy' for sale or just the photo?

I wouldn't be happy if i got a back up disc, especially if i paid lots of money for a genuine copy.

I would email the seller and tell them you are not happy about the software being a copy (providing it didnt say in the auction that it was a copy/backup) and see if the seller offers you a refund and if not then open a dispute through ebay/paypal and get your money back

if things don't get resolved, threaten to report them to FAST for software piracy,

if that doesn't work, actually report them

In answer to the original question, it is not acceptable. Software piracy is a criminal offence and you should be able to get your money back easily from the seller, just e-mail them and explain you wanted a genuine copy and that you would like your money back.

I brought some sunglasses i Oakley i paid for real ones which he never stated was fake ever , plus its not legal so thought i was getting the real thing.

Got them and i can spot a fake a mile of , good job as most likely will damage my eyes ... i quickly demanded a refund or legal action his choose.

I would never buy clothes of ebay either , a majority of them are fake , maybe some people dont care about this but i do , big difference in quailty as they say you get what you pay for.

I bought some Oakleys a couple of weeks ago, luckily I read the buyers guide on Ebay helped no end in spotting fakes!

However one seller was advertising OAKLEY sunglasses and it was only in the very small print at the bottom of his listing did it say... Oakley Style sunglasses in writing about an eighth of the usual size font. 2 people had negged him and all he said was I never claimed they were genuine Ha ha ha!!

All ebay said was only buy if they come with the box, and paperwork.

I have been after a pair of oakley x Metals for my holiday but Would never buy a pair without the paperwork as 99.9% of fakes don't come with paperwork

Just been through this on a counterfeit ink cartridge.
If you paid by paypal lodge a repayment claim ASAP. I did this and luckily got my money back as there was still money in the sellers paypal a/c.
If you want to take it further complain to Trading Standards in the area your seller is trading.

I dont think anyone is going to say something is a copy on ebay as not only is it against their rules its illegal isnt it?

The majority of stuff on ebay are fakes/copies.
