Here we are asking OFGEM to get the companies to reduce prices and their latest report says that prices will need to rise to maintain our security of supply and reach green targets.

Stop tryting to be a sensationalist.

There is nothing new in this report unless you have miss read it, the report is talking long term as in over 10-15 years prices will rise.

The question people are asking is can prices drop now in relation to the reduction in wholesale prices. This report has noting to do with that question

Is that why E.On have just postponed a new power plant decision in the UK?
..Late Wednesday, E.ON said in a statement it was deferring the investment decision on the planned 1.6-gigawatt Kingsnorth plant for up to two to three years from 2013 because of a drop in power demand.

"This (decision) is based on the global recession, which has pushed back the need for new plant in the U.K. to around 2016 because of the reduction in demand for electricity," the statement said. ...

Why isn't OFGEM simply ordering the utility companies to use the millions and millions of pounds profit they are robbing - yes robbing out of us each year and invest THAT into their future plans? The answer - they are on the side of the power companies, not the innocent consumer. It's nothing short of a bloody disgrace.

OFGEM are a waste of tax payers money, they are toothless. They gave up their right to force energy companies to reduce prices in 2002, thinking that competition would do it all instead

Judging by recent press reports, the hierarchy of OFGEM are more concerned with taking a first class seat on the gravy train.

    Google The Times Ofgem Expenses

OFGEM have simply wrecked and asset stripped our energy utilities whilst helping themselves to fat cat salaries, expenses and pension pots.

They have stripped the utilities such as the gas industry,of millions of pounds to the point where they can barely operate safely.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
