Easy Kard

Options
Hi,
Has anyone any experience of the " pay as you go " Easy kard " ?
Apparently you pay up front and are able to use the card in shops and on line etc. It appears to be designed for people with poor credit but are there any catches ?

Yuck what a chavtastic name. I'f its aimed at the bad credit people theres prob some catch like theres a 8% fee to put any money on it, like them cards for young people that could actually get a solo card with no fees. Although I have never heard of it before.

I agree, what a chavtastic name. I can picture the advertising campaign now, Vikki Pollard and her Easy Kard.

    From http://www.easykard.com/index_files/Page785.htm:

"Q. My name is not on the front of my card, is this correct?
    A. On certain VISA cards we provide your name will not appear on the card, this is now normal for this type of card and provides extra security as only you know the registered name of the card, it will not be possible for anyone else that may obtain your card to use it on the internet or by telephone if they do not know the name of the registered cardholder"

No name on the card? That's go to be the first time I've heard of that - they're even bigging it up as an advantage/benefit!!

Anyone know if this is a new trend or is this particular card leaving people with already poor credit open to some interesting fraud possibilities?

Personally I can't decide if having the name on my cards helps or hinders my attempts to avoid fraud
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

  • Yeah ive heard of no names on cards before - its only the prepaid ones tho - most dollar prepaid ones dont have your name on it. I got one without a name in the states, and dont have a problem with it (to date).

Them easykard fees arent that bad actually lookin at the website, ive seen worse ones - mite get 1!
