Cannot connect to server

Has enyone had this trouble ?

.....I have 2Mbit broadband and sometimes when I want to connect to the web I press my hotkey for the web, the box opens up which I then click connect, all goes fine at this point and the little two computer icons appear, but then nothing happens and I get the message "cannot connect to server", the same thing happens when I try to pick up my email.

I'm connected, but I keep getting this can't connect to the server. I have even tried with the firewalls off (Zonealarm & XP SP2) but it's still the same. I thought the firewalls could be blocking things, but other times it works just fine.

After first startup all goes well, but I go on the net now and again during using my PC, its very fustrating because I'm connected but cant connect to the web or get my emails.....

Any Ideas
