Finished my exams today....I realise this isn't really money saving...but I thought seen as its a student board it might be nice to have an exams finished topic...
Anyway...will be going out tonight to celebrate, so any moneysaving tips on how to not spend so much on beer will be useful!!! :j

We all know that's not going to happen Sillychuckie!!

I reckon if you have a few drinks at home before you go out that'll save you money - it's always cheaper to drink at home with friends/coursemates! Although I guess by now you're already out! I know I will be at this time on monday

Congrats on finishing your exams - I've got mine next week and the week after.
I really should be revising, but my laptop died last week and so had to buy a replacement as that one has a fault and I don't trust it anymore, plus it wouldn't be repaired in time anyway.
Well, I really wanted a Media Center Edition one, and it was not that bad a price, but the first place I tried had it out of stock, but didn't tell me until after I'd placed the order and they'd reserved the funds (thought not taken them). Can't believe they let me place an order online for an item with quantity zero. So I wasn't aware htere was a problem, as they said on the phone when they called me that payment had not been taken. So I premptly went and bought the laptop from another shop online, and they had it and I was thrilled.
Imagine my shock when I checked my account in the evening to find that due to the first shop reserving the funds for the non-order, and then the second order going through, my Nationwide FlexAccount was £750 over the authorised limit of £250, being -£992 in debt.
Called up Nationwide yesterday and they increased the overdraft to £1250 to give me some breathing space, but told me to contact the company in uestion (Technoworld) to see if I got any joy. Needless to say, got to the level below the director and nothing - the directors weren't in, and they said that yes there system was faulty but that it was still MY fault. And all I was asking was for my overdraft charges to be paid until those reserved funds are returned to me and made available, as that would bring the balance back up into the positive zone.
So Nationwide are now going to initiate a refund request. Hopefully it can all be sorted out - I'm having my own phone line put in tomorrow so that's another £100, so all in all it's been rather stressful, and being a 2nd year student I still want to do well in these exams (I know some will say it's not that important at this stage but I disagree, especially as I really, really enjoy Computing with e-Business).
NEVER BUY FROM TECHNOWORLD.
Anyway, sorry for that rant, and once again congrats for the exams. Enjoy the hols - enjoy every minute of them as time is precious - I read a book on time management today (McGraw Hill, 2003) and it really opened up m eyes to that fact.
Cheers.

wow that was an incredible rant....that makes no sense right now as I have had a few drinks, although I don't think it will make sense even in the morning! I didn't leave my wallet at home so the first money saving tip wasn't much use!
Have had a good night though.... and will be out tomorrow and Sunday and Monday, so nice bit of money spent but all in the name of fun!!!!:beer:Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0 -

Hey patwa you should get a cashback credit card for any big purchases and set up a dd to pay the full balance each month. Then you have more protection than paying from a current account and make a few pennys.
I've just handed in the last assignment of my 4 year uni degree and my life feels a little empty after the inital rush of leaving that building for the last time. Very odd.0 -
Had my last exam yesterday, no more studying(resits depending) woohoo!!
Got smashed last night, and that was only the beginning, Alton Towers on Tuesday with my girl, and the Asian Ball on Friday. Woohoo again!!Death smiles at us all, all a man can do is smile back.0 -
