eBay Picture Rage!

So, I have spent all day listing our weekly delivery on eBay (we are a comic shop and had 150+ listings to upload today).

I have discovered that after uploading via TurboLister, half our pictures don't work on the listings. This seems to be because eBay have now decided that pictures should be "between 1000 and 1600 pixels on the longer side."

It says that size is recommended, but doesn't seem to make it clear that your picture will flat out not work/not upload if it is less than that size.

We cannot list comics without pictures, as the covers are really, really important to the majority of collectors. We already have to jump through hoops for eBay and this is just the horrible icing on a badly burnt cake.

Is anyone else experiencing this kind of problem?

I haven't run into this yet, but it is something worth remembering for future thank you.

Also, you have remembered the new post and packing rules for media coming in next week haven't you, or is that why you are putting them all up now to beat the changes?

I am having lots of problems viewing pictures at the moment (on other people's listings). I can see the gallery view in my search results, but on the listing there's nothing there. Very annoying!

Yes unfortunately I have remembered, we have to list every week on Thursday or we will lose out so last minute we will just have to bulk edit and change all our comics last minute before the changes take effect. We have to end and relist over half our listings as we will now need to change all the prices. It's just a nightmare at the moment :(
  • I've been reading ebay's powerseller board and you aren't the only one affected. There hasn't been much response so it can't be widespread, least not yet.

Me too- makes life difficult when the description is vague!
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

The gallery photo IS the main photo now, you can enlarge it. Listings with photos in the description have been added by seller who host their own pics.
  • Mine are back to normal this morning after playing up yesterday. Might have just been a glitch. Thats all that has to be sorted out now is the strike.

Me too :( It's annoying when your trawling through a listings looking for specific things!

Yes, but it's not like that- the picture is there on the search results, but when you open the listing there is just a blank space where the picture would normally go (not even ebays two empty polaroids image)
