  • Hi there

You can get the airport link bus which will take you straight to the edinburgh waverly train station, its runs every 10-15 minutes, from there the national express train definetly takes you from edinburgh to darlington via some other stops on the way

    hope this helps

Train can be done for all four of you for £29.80 total.

Dep Edinburgh 19:00 or 21:00, arr Darlington 21:08 or 23:17 respectively.
    Advance Singles = £29.80.

With these tickets you must catch the booked train, so probably best to choose the 21:00 departure to avoid missing the train. 19:00 may be a bit tight, but perhaps someone else can advise..

To get these fares book on the NXEC website.

Might even be worth getting tickets for both trains... still much cheaper than a walkup fare of £127.75.

P.s. If you're thinking about the fully flexible Anytime Singles at £127.75, then get a Family and Friends Railcard for under £20 to bring the tickets price down to £79.25.

Family & Friends railcards are now £26 but still give you a massive discount so well worth getting
    one of the famous 5:kiss:
  • Thanks very much,I wouldnt normally use train,so wouldnt use railcard again.
Prob best to take the 21:00 incase flight delayed, incidentally how long does bus take from airport?
Seems to me no hurry to decide cos these cheap fares dont need to be booked too far in advance it seems:confused:

Sorry, slightly out of date information there.

As described in Cheap Train & Coach Deals, a F&F Railcard is available for £19.50 here.

I would advise you to buy Advance Single tickets as soon as you are sure of your plans.
There only a limited number available.
