Final bill received after 6 months
Options
Six months ago I switched to Scottish Power from Southern electric (I've since changed again due to SP dodgy sales tactics) and on Friday I received a final bill from Southern electric saying that the bill they recently sent me (which they didn't) hasn't been paid. Having thought about it, I think I've been a bit dumb as I didn't check the dates on the correspondence. I received my online bill saying I owed about £140, then in the post I received a bill for £62 which I paid (after phoning them to ask if the bill was correct) assuming it was the final bill. It didn't have final bill written on it but I just assumed that I would hear from them shortly if there was a problem. So six months later I receive a bill for about £77, which it seems that I do owe however I think that it's really shoddy that they've taken so long to send it out....is there anything I can do? I understand in the end that I'll probably have to pay but I don't think that SE should be able to demand money six months after the supply was switched. I haven't heard anything from them by phone or post until this bill. Anyone have any ideas??

Yes you have to pay it unless you have not used what they are billing you for. On the upside you've had an interest free loan for 6 months.0
