Gamestation warranty woes

I brought the full band bundle of guitar hero world tour on xbox 360 in november last year and had a fault with the guitar a week or so afterwards.

Gamestation said they had to replace the whole kit rather than just the guitar so never mind i thought i get a whole new kit. In the new year when i actually started to use it one of the pads on the drum kit was dodgey so i phoned up and they said they didnt have any in stock so couldnt replace it right now etc etc .. so i just put it away and only really used the guitar and just put up with the dodgey pad on the drums on the off chance i did use them.

Now the dodgey pad doesnt work at all and i phoned up to try again and get a replacement and they tell me that their products are only covered by a 3 month warranty not a 12 months warranty!

I had an arguement with the guy but didnt really get anywhere, i think essencially what he means is that the replacement product has a 3 month warranty.

Can they do this?

Basically i take in a product with a 12 month warranty a few weeks later and get a BRAND NEW replacement and have just lost 8 1/2 months of warranty cover!

Any advice on what they should provided and what i can do would be grately apprechiated.

Not sure of your rights here but I had a similar problem with a microwave from Argos. Broke down within 6 months of buying it, took it in and they replaced it then that one broke down with the same problem 11 months later. Wasn't sure if I was covered as I don't think its clear if warranties run from the original purchase date or from the replacement date. Anyway, took the second one back and they replaced it with another brand of microwave no problem at all. Bravo to Argos, very impressed.
    Good luck with Game.
