Know of any good/reasonable gyms?

Hello, I usually post on the NI thread but my daughter has moved to Cathays area of Cardiff and was wondering if there were any gyms around where she can keep fit?
Nothing as expensive as David Lloyd type fees,... she is a music student!

Try MiFit in Llanishen = £9.95 a month.alternatively if she's a student, how about the college/uni gym? Or the YMCA

Alternatively, I am a member of Barcelo and the gyms are based within their hotels, so local to me I have a choice of 2. I know there is a Barcelo hotel in Cardiff. I pay £22 / month with a corporate membership, but I am very sure that there is an equivalent student membership.

She is a student at RWCMD and I dont think they have a gym. Also Cardiff uni. is separate and she wouldnt be eligible to use it. Also (argh!) she has funny joints and foot probs. so althought natures gym is a great idea, she just isnt bult for street pounding.. I would do her more harm than good. At present she is walking to and from college (15 mins )about 4 times a day , good for cardio health but no use for all over muscle toning.
Save-a-lot, we stayed in the Cardiff Barcelo (Angel Hotel maybe?) when we dropped her off. That would be quite handy. Ill pass all the info on.

Never been to the Barcelo in Cardiff, but I use Shrigley Hall and the Palace in Buxton and both are ok for what I pay. I have used better, but they have everything that I need personally. I looked around the Barcelo website for student concessions and they do not show any prices. But for info, mention that corporate membership in the North West region is £22 / month. I am sure they will match it.

There's a place called Dave's gym (classy) in Roath that I hear is very cheap. I haven't been there though so can't comment on what its like.
