I think these scams are funny and do they think people are stupid enough to supply them with the bank details to get their money to you but really it is to wipe your account out0

It's another forum devoted to these kinds of email scams. Some people play them along for months. There are loads of tips on how to wind the sender up, and some of the accounts of months of email wind up are hilarious.
I've now spent 3 hours reading that site, missed Corrie and my wife is moaning so I'd better log off.

I received an order which was all paid for from a nigerian customer. Since the payment went through they have been hassling us by email asking us to help them get 6 sony ericson phones and ship them to nigeria. Payment will only be made by credit card which is so obviously an act of fraud and so obviously we refused to help them.
Unfortunately the payment for the items they ordered had been processed
by worldpay before we had the chance to reject it leaving me feeling quite sick. The order was £45 not a lot I know but I feel sure that some time soon I will receive a chargeback which will end up costing us a further £25.
The order is sat here waiting to be dispatched but obviously since this transaction is more than likely an act of fraud we are not going to dispatch or we stand to loose over £100. As a small company this is an expense we could do with out so I just wanted to warn any other internet retailers about this problem.

Another twist on this scam is where they send you a third party cheque for much more then the price of the goods. They ask you to pay this cheque into your bank, pay for the item out of this cheque and send the balance of the amount back to them. So you pay the cheque into the bank and it seems to clear, but after a few weeks it finally bounces and it then turns out that it was a forged cheque. In that time you have sent the scammer the original goods, plus the balance of the money and you lose the whole lot.
Several cases like this have been featured on the BBC Three Counties Radio consumer programme . One guy lost about £5,000. The actual cheques do look genuine. One was from Centrica and was supposed to be a dividend payment cheque. Other ones appeared to be from well-known British companies , but they were all forgeries. So be warned. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Go to "Scamorama" and the tears will be rolling down your cheeks at how people "play" these con artists.

Like many i have my fair share of these messages. But the funniest come into my university account, as someone who works in healthcare education - it kind of goes "you know i have had a total cerebellectomy and recovering well but in need of a cash transaction to reconnect my neurones! My wife left me shortly after surgery taking all my hard earned cash and whilst i was without a cerebellum i had no idea that she was leaving me in a desperate sitaution. I have now recovered from being a quadraplegic through the miraculous intervention of Paypal so perhaps you can help me on my journey of nerve reconnection........"
We get some howlers and if they realised what they were writing they would know that all we would do is laugh!
