car prob.

i have just split with my ex whos dad payed for a car for us i part exed. my old car the log book is in my name but has a receit in both our name and she took it from my house dose any one know who would be the right owner of the car and can she sell it with out me signing the log book????????? PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS

  • I think that if the log book is in your name only, then you are the legal owner. Hope someone can help more

    The registered keeper is not necessarily the legal owner.

    But whilst you are still the registered keeper, all information will still come to you e.g. speeding tickets etc.
    I suggest you try and come to some resolution asap.

    nah the log book is the registered keeper. They can be different to the owner.

    Her dad paid for the car, or at least most of it? Really they should give you the amount you got for part ex of your old car or if they sell the car 1/2 of the profit (or loss) should be beared by you.
