JL Dining Chair developed fault - do I have any comeback?

Hi all,

I bought some dining furniture (table and 6 chairs) from JL back in Jan 2008, which was delivered to me in March 2008.

I noticed yesterday that one of the chairs has developed a split in one section of the wood, currently stretching about 7 inches.

Since the chair has only been used to sit on, and not many times at that, I'm sure this must be a manufacturing fault. However, since it's been 18 months since I bought it am I legally entitled to any comeback?

The chair alone was £260 so I'm obviously extremely unhappy that this has happened.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Many thanks,
Sconifer.
