Second Chance Offer and combined postage

I've received a Second Chance Offer for a top I bid on. I was just wondering how does this come about, i.e. what did the top bidder do to back out from the sale? Or, indeed, what did the seller do?
Also, I bought another top from the same seller a couple of days ago, which I paid for yesterday. Is it reasonable to ask for the postage to be combined if I do take up the Second Chance Offer? I assume that both tops would be sent out together anyway.

Few reasons:
They had multiples of that particular top and size.
The high bidder backed out.
The high bidder was the same person under a different account bidding on his own stuff (shill bidding).
I would definitely ask for combined postage (as long as they haven't sent the other top already obviously).0 -

Well, I hope it wasn't reason no. 3! I doubt it was because the highest bid was only 50p more than my maximum. Thanks for the info!0
