Electricity consumption - is this normal?

Please excuse this particularly airhead girly quetsion but until i get my bill I have no idea what I've spent on my electricity and I've never lived on my own before!
I have been in my new (rented) very small flat for one month and I have been SO careful with my electricity consumption, turn all plugs off when I go out, replaced all bulbs with energy efficient ones, sitting by candlelight (yes I am cheap!! I hope it pays off!) etc. In this month I have used 97 units...I know the cost will depend on my supplier but I just wondered whether anyone can give me an idea as to whether this is good, is it average or less than normal? The flat only has an immersion and storage heaters so I want to save my pennies while I can before it gets really cold and I am forced to splash out on the heaters!
Please excuse my ignorance on the subject !

You have obviously been very careful with your consumption if you have only used 97 kWh in one month! That is very low and most would use three to four times that in one month. You will find that it's the high wattage appliances that will cost you the most to use e.g. the immersion heater and storage heaters, so when you start to use the heating your consumption will rise significantly. Check that you are on the best tariff for your requirements, presumably E7 is you have storage heaters. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Hi Sammylou,
97kwh per month is excellent even for one person in a small flat - it works out at around 3.2kwh per day. We use a minimum of 17kwh per day in our flat (there are four people and three bedrooms to take into consideration though.)

That is great news, thankyou! I'm glad it's paid off! Maybe I will treat myself to an extra bath next month! (bathing is luxury cos I have to turn the immersion on, I have an electric shower so that doesn't use so much energy!) Thanks guys. x0
