Birds have moved in!!

Hi

Anyone know who is the best person to call to sort out a nest of birds in your house. They are getting in through a gap in the tiles and must be nesting somewhere down the side wall cavity.

Thanks

A builder, but wait until after the summer and the birds have fled the nest.

We had a similar problem where they got in through gaps in the soffit boards.
I managed to sort that problem out myself
The in-laws have them coming in near the gutters but wont do anything about it just yet as the nest may have eggs in it.

I believe cavity wall insulation is a good way to stop them building in the cavitys in future

It might be a short term nuisance to you, but try to leave it until the chicks have flown the nest.

We put chicken wire inbetween the roof and the wall to stop birds getting into the eaves etc... always had problems until we did this!

I believe it's illegal to interfere with nests or nesting birds, so these cures are for next year if you choose to do it. birds are not trying to get into your house they are just looking for somewhere warm ands dry with good access to outside. We don't find it a problem with sparrows nesting every year - they're not called house sparrows for nothing!
