Vantage - 3 accounts. What excuse did you use?

I've set up one vantage account, and am waiting for my pin/chequebook. Plus am going to put in £7k this weekend.

I tried to set up accounts 2+3 today, but they said my account must be set up properly first, and used.

They also asked me why I needed 2-3 accounts- what excuses do you guys use you 3x vantage people?

I didn't use any excuse. I just told the truth right away. That means I wanted the extra accounts just for the sake of the 4% interest. That was totally fine with them and I was also given extra advice to fund my accounts from outside (so internal transfer wouldn't count)!

That is actually incorrect, see post #20 + #21 on LLoyds TSB Vantage loophole.

I can confirm this from experience. However, I do not think it's wise to do so and will fund my accounts externally from now on.

i know someone who did it within the last week and told them it was to help them manage different household budgets - so if you feel you need an excuse try that

Me too - and have always funded thm internally, cycling £1000 between them all, and have always receive round about £18 - £20 net interest per month on £7000 per account. Have never added any new money since they were set up.

Cheers. I'll just go for the honesty approach. Just need to wait for my Egg 6.3% to expire this weekend then I'll get cracking once the Lloyds has the first £7k!

If you open a Classic account online, then upgrade online to Vantage, you don't get asked to give a reason, so there is no awkwardness.

They won't let me open any current accounts online for some reason... :(
