Appealing a PCN

Hi everyone, my first post here.

My Daughter got a ticket couple of weeks ago. What happened is, she was half parked on double yellow lines and half in a residents parking bay.

The ticket states that she was parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours, the ticket was issued at 07:10 and observed from 07:05 until 07:10.

Now the sign for the restriction states residents parking between 08:00 and 22:00, so I appealed the ticket informally on the basis that she was not parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours.

I get a letter back today saying the

"officer has produced a photograph which clearly shows double yellow lines at this location, this indicates that no parking is allowed at any time and therefore the penalty charge notice was issued correctly".

The letter goes on to tell me that we can either pay or wait for a notice to owner and then appeal.

My thinking is they can can only do us for the contravention listed on the ticket? if the ticket was issued for parking on double yellows shouldn't it state just that?

It does. Yellow lines indicate a 'restricted street'. Doubles 24/7.

    You need alternative avenues.

Give the necessary basic details per the 'Sticky'.
