Swiftcall - closing down, similar or better alternatives?

Hi all,
First posting for me using MSE, known about the site for many years now and a semi regular lurker!

I got a notice that Swiftcall are pulling out of the market and/or closing down. It means the fantastic plan I've been on will no longer be. I did a quick search and I'm semi surprised this company and it's products/plans haven't been mentioned more!

I've been with them and on their plan (more details in a moment) for a good 4+ years and have really enjoyed the service in terms of my 'fixed rate' charge each month.

£20/month 'access' charge, unlimited anytime calls to the UK and countries abroad, and crucially, access from my mobile phone via an 0207 number.
I regularly call the USA and Canada, occasionally, other countries in the list of included countries too but mainly those two. All my UK calls I'd use the service as well, and that was via a 0800 freephone access number.

After 75 minutes it would cut in and ask you to re-dial.

Is there any similar or better plan than this to switch to? they'll be closing 1st November -

Ideally, I'd like the same sort of features, particularly mobile access as I often call my contacts when I'm out and about.

I also can't understand why they are pulling out of the market - I understand 'the' reasons given of course, but for me and I suspect those who did know about it, it was a fantastic way of 'fixing phone costs' in an all in one package - £20 access, 11.99 (I think thats what we pay for a BT line per month) and I 'knew' my phone calls would never cost more than that combined figure (unless I called one of the countries not included) - I'd have thought they'd have many customers overall? - with the lack of mentioning here on MSE, which is arguably the biggest and well known 'Value for Money' sites in the UK public eye, I do find it strange that certainly on this forum, it wasn't mentioned more? perhaps their marketing campaign was pretty crap and just so happened not many actually knew about it ?!

Anyone out there who knows or can point me in the direction of something I can switch to please?!

Many thanks!

the service i loved about Swiftcall (and i have used them for donkeys years) was being able to use any landline in the country, dial in my account number, and the cost of the call would be charged to my phone bill and not the person whos phone i was using. It Saved me fortunes in mobile calls ...

anyone know of another provider who does this ?

many thanks i had a good look round the site, it looks interesting - their packages are certainly good value. But their mobile call charges seem to be at last 12 months out of date - any idea if there is a way of getting their actual "now" prices - i need to use a landline to call mobiles quite a lot as there is no mobile signal where i work. many thanks
