Hi, I have just got my first credit card with Lloyds, but dont know what to use it for! silly i know!
Do i keep it for emergencies, use it if i see a bargain in town, or what?
Ive survived without one all my life so now I dont know what to use it for and I dont want to be stupid with it.
Shall I just keep it as a handy back up?
So my question is what do you use yours for?
Thanks in advance

Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
A hug is a great gift - one size fits all and its easy to exchange

It depends what benefits you have with it - some cards offer cashback or airmiles or club points so can be used for frequent purchases.
Credit cards offer an extra level of protection so it can be worth using them for that when buying larger/ more expensive items.
Some just keep it in their back pockets either for true emergencies or female emergencies (aka shoes in a sale

Use it for all internet purchases and any other purchases over £100 for the extra protection you get from it.
If you have a rewards scheme, use it for every purchase you possibly can.
However, always pay off the full amount of the bill every month so you do not pay any interest!0 -
If you really dont know what to use it for, use it to pay for your supermarket shop and pay it off in full. This will help build your credit record - you may not have a lot of history since its your first card.
As others have said, there are also other advantages0 -
Well this is what I do, use my Egg Money card for all purchases, keep a running total. Leave the money in my Tesco savings account until a few days before the egg bill is to be paid, then transfer the money to my cheque account in order to pay credit card.
The purpose is that what I would have previously spent throughout the month is still in my bank earning interest, rather than in Tesco's bank or whereever.0
