which canon ixus? 95 or 100??

Canon is definitely the best for compacts.
For an SLR, I would still say go Nikon. They have the best lenses.

^ Disagree, the L series optics from Canon are easily the best glass in the world.

You may scoff, but if they make the best quality at a price point, why wouldn't we recommend? I've had Canon equipment for 20 odd years in the SLR zone.

For compacts I've had Fuji, Canon, Nikon and tested for review other brands, and nothing has beaten the build quality of images from the Canons.

If I was looking for a new camera today, I'd read all the comparative reviews, and look at the quality of images and features. SLRs, Canon and Nikon are well ahead of the pack. Compacts Canon and Panasonic wipe the floor with the others.

Depends if you want the more compact 100 version, the 95 is slightly larger, but most reviews agree the image quality is about the same.

You pay more for the 100 as it's smaller. The 95 is a very good price at the moment, around £145 - try https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk whereas the 100 is nearer £170.
