Scottish Power from Scottish Gas
I was hoping for a bit of advice, i am soon finishing up the British Gas December 2009 fixed tariff and i'm looking around to see what's the best bet. According to the comparison websites Scottish Power on-line energy saving 7 seems to come up trumps every time as a cheaper option (and a 60 quid kickback from Quidco) but i wanted to check a couple of things:
1. Will i be charged for leaving British Gas before December?
2. Scottish Power is not fixed, does anyone's crystal ball predict another round of price hikes this winter (i.e, is there a consensus on this?) if so i might go fixed with another supplier but not as good a deal
Thanks in advance,
Sherbet66
PS, I didn't ask British Gas about no 1 as they aggressively hard sell you if you even mention tarriff end/switching.

Wow, what a question! My crystal ball is completely fogged over so I have no idea, but would say that with people ranging from the energy regulator, BBC Watchdog, the Independant newspaper, and even the government calling for price falls based on the recent falls in wholesale energy prices, it would be a brave, (or belligerent) energy company who tries to increase prices this winter unless they want a severe gumming from the toothless Ofgem"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
