How do I 'opt in' to become a Power Seller?

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone can help me?
I have a basic shop on ebay, and was looking at the seller dashboard where it says 'Power Seller Level - None', when I click on that it says I have reached the requirements to become a bronze Power Seller (has green ticks next to all the requirements boxes) but then it says 'You are not a PowerSeller, You have opted out of the PowerSeller programme'
Can't ever remember 'opting out' and have looked through the ebay help pages looking for ways for me to 'opt in'
I had just assumed that I would gain Power Seller status automatically once I had reached the targets.
If anyone could help I would be very gratefull
Thanks,
Zippy x

Ok I had exactly the same problem. Sold about 3.5k and over 300 items and ticked all the right boxes so i thought. I asked the same question to ebay so I hope this helps. One line says I dont qualify and the other says I do! The figues they quote, I really have no idea where they got them from.
Hello
Thank you for writing to eBay's PowerSeller Support regarding joining
the PowerSeller programme. I'm happy to assist you.
Alami, I have checked your account and your current gross monthly volume
(GMV) is £526.00 with an average of 68 items sold for the last 3 months.
In order to become a PowerSeller on eBay.co.uk you will need to meet the
following requirements:
1. Establish a track record of consistent sales achievement to be able
to maintain a preset level of average gross monthly volume for the past
three months of selling activity as detailed below:
Bronze - £750.00 or sell 100-299 items per month
- Be registered as a business seller on eBay.
Please be assured that if you'll continue same selling practise, you may
soon received an invitation to join our PS programme. I'm glad to inform
you that days are not far when you'll be receiving your PS status, may
be you'll receive invitation on the 10th of next month which is October.
Furthermore, upon reviewing your account, I can confirm that you do
qualify to become a PowerSeller as per your Seller Dashboard. Please
note that our tools work differently as compared to the Seller Dashboard
in order to calculate the PowerSeller qualification.
The Gross Monthly Volume (GMV) is calculated differently in Seller
Dashboard and in our tool. In Seller Dashboard, the GMV is calculated on
the basis of 3 months rolling period whereas, in our tool, it does not
include the current month.
I.e. in Seller Dashboard it includes July, 2009 to September 2009
(Day-to-day rolling basis) and in our tool it is 10th July, 2009 to 10th
September, 2009 (10th July to 10th September). Hence, your most recent
sales from 11th September till date, are still not calculated for
evaluating your PowerSeller status.
For your reference, Here's how to change your account to a business
account:
1. Go to My eBay > My Account > Personal Information.
2. Click 'edit' next to account type and follow the steps.
As a PowerSeller you'll have access to a range of benefits, including
telephone support and discounts on your monthly fees. For more details
about fee discounts for PowerSellers, copy this link into a new browser
window:
Our system reviews all the accounts for PowerSeller status on the 10th
of every month.
So, I'd suggest you to wait till this date and if still you meet the
requirements, you will receive an invitation from us by email to become
a PowerSeller on eBay.co.uk. We sincerely hope this will be the case for
you.
Thank you for being a valuable member of our community. I wish you all
the best in gaining the PowerSeller status by the next week.0 -
As above, the Powerseller reviews come around the middle of the month, so if you meet the criteria, which includes being a registered business seller and all that entails, it should automatically appear.
Besides access to the PS board, a 9-5 telephone helpline and a 5% discount, there is nothing more to show for being a powerseller. You do not even get the logo displayed on your listings so no-one from the Q&A board even throws peanuts at you any more...<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Thank you, that has helped.
