Hi Wondering if anyone can help?!! I took out a Halifax Credit card in July which basically paid for our holiday and other bits n bobs! I have paid double the minimum monthly payments even if it has only been a couple!!! I am wondering if its worth taking out a new credit card so I can do a balance transfer to a 0% card giving me back some spending on my halifax for xmas etc. I tried Virgin afew months back and was refused, so waited a cple of months and went to Halifax who were superb and gave me a limit more than I thought I would get going on what Virgin told why I couldnt have a card? Im new to all this credit card milarky as have always paid cash etc.......but I was living in Germany!!
Hope someone can give me advice.....I dont want to start applyin for cards and knacker my credit score when just got it back up again!

Have you estimated how long it would take to clear the debt on your Halifax card?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0

the best advice is to save up for things you need
by all means use a credit card for convenience but make sure you pay in full each month otherwise you will end up having bigger and bigger debts and paying lots and lots in interest.. madness.0 -
At the moment until an insurance policy matures (bout another year) prob take another year or so without that to pay it off. Am paying double the min payments. I know shud save up for what we want but when u get offered a deal u cant decline......plus it was the first family holiday we had had altogether in over 15 years due to hubby being in forces at the time...could never get time off together or holidays got canx last min cos he had to go away last min! Thankfully that behind us now and we are reg "normal" family! lol Just not sure whether to transfer my balance to another card?0

Re saving up I take it u meant for Christmas......new credit card there for emergencies! As in past experience something has ALWAYS gone wrong for us!! Last year was a wapping vet bill! Yes we did get money back on insurance but u have to pay for it first in most cases!, year before that oven blew up on Xmas Eve! Year before that someone hit my car!! Perhaps we should admit defeat and not celebrate it?!!!:think:0
