Cleaning up um vomit

I used to use stain and odour remover which comes from a pet shop or vets. I bought some for when the dogs were puppies but notice that it works for other smells/stains too. It certainly was effective if my children were ill and never made it to the bathroom.

Hi thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try and have look under the lino too. The house is 1930s so should be ordinary wood floor. Sarah - the friend was dragged from her bed to clean it up - can you believe she went to bed and left it! And she was set to work again yesterday morning. My OH is livid. Not like she is some kind of kid. She's pushing 40. I think if I clapped eyes on her again at the moment I would strangle her!

Hi,

Just a quickie my brother used to work on one of the cheap airlines and they use coca cola to clean vomit off the carpets, only suggested if you have a dark carpet but should be ok on the floorboards. Imagine what it does to your insides!!!!!!!!:eek:

Also when my little one was sick all over the seagrass on the stair white vinegar worked a treat, no smell at all (after the vinegar had gone)

Hi - just an update. I couldn't find anything for pets in Wilkinson (except something to actually spray your dog with), so I picked up some Zaflora because that said it had an odour eliminator in, some carpet foam with an odour eliminator and some Oust 2in1. These last two probably not very old style but as you can probably imagine I was in no mood to mess about. I went into Lloyds to see if they had a big box of bicarb but they didn't and I didn't have time to go anywhere else. I'll try in boots tomorrow. Anyway I pulled up the lino and luckily there was nothing under there though I have sprayed around with oust and zaflora to make sure and left the lino up to dry. Everything has been wiped down with zaflora, left to dry and sprayed with oust. So now just a matter of time to see if it has worked. At the moment it is smelling very strongly of spring flowers so hard to tell if it is just masking the smell. But it is all definately clean. Incidentally, the friend just texted me to see if I had recovered from the party and I just replied that I am now recovering from spending a tenner on cleaning stuff and she has offered to reimburse me.
