Humble Student gets a TPS Car Park Ticket?

Hello, I am at my end and I have come to the Intenet in a last will attempt before I give up and just pay this stupid thing...

Allow me to paint a picture:

Humble 18 year old college student passes his driving test a few months ago and gets a car! How exciting? I know! :D Decides to get some driving experience and start driving to college every day and park in the school car park...

But nooo its a TPS Car Park.

So basically I have been paying £1 every day to park there as the machine is giving me a little ticket. I did this today.

I put my ticket on my dashboard like I have done for the past 5 weeks and went to class. When I came back to my car I saw the evil "Parking Document Enclosed" thing on my window. And got in my car and noticed that my ticket had fallen on the floor.

There saying £50 or £25 in 14 days. I have the car park ticket that I paid for...... Obviously I have no god damn money I have to pay all that on PETROL so will not pay this ticket.

(before you say what you say read this bit)

I have reaserched TPS Parking Solutions quite abit and the whole private car park system.

There seemed to be arecuring theme as if you actually (did not get a ticket or stayed too long) to just say you where not driving the car???

As I was driving and actually had a ticket but fell on the floor is there any different approach I need to take?

LOTS have said to just egnor it, and egnor any threatening letters of court action and bailths and all that.

HOWEVER I'm only 18! I don't want some bulging muscley bald guy knocking on my front door and doing the whole foot in the door thing like on the tv :( Demanding lots of dosh.

NEITHER do I want a court summons. As that would just seriously mess things up.

So to you! The nice friendly people of moneysavingexpert forums!

Any specific advise for a Student who has been done in by TPS Car Parks?

Thanks much love

x

If,as you say, you have researched this then you will know that the correct course of action is to ignore them. If you want to rationalise this stance then consider that as you originally bought a ticket, then TPS and the site owners have made no loss whatsoever, thus under contract law all they can claim is £0.

The general advice is to ignore it, not sure what would happen if you decided to egnor it though
    .....

  • Don't lie to them, just do not enter into correspondence with them. Do not appeal it-their appeals process is not independent so obviously it will be rejected. No one will come round to your door, the worst you will get are a few colourful letters threatening solicitors and debt collectors.
