Cat Insurance whilst banned
I recently lost my driving licence after being convicted of drink driving
I am currently trying to sell my car which i have declared SORN
Is there anyway of obtaining fire and theft cover to cover my vehicle until it is sold whilst i dont have a licence
I'm not driving it i just cant afford to write off the money should something happen to it
Thanks oops

You can get fully comprehensive insurance in your name whilst disqualified. It can cover any licenced driver, so you will be covered for test drives when selling. The only stipulation on the policy is that it will exclude the policy holder from driving.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I assume you mean car rather than cat...
You need a Laid Up Policy which normally covers Fire and Theft only, its generally subject to the car being kept in a locked garage.

P.S Do not forget to SORN the vehicle0

Already SORN
unfortunately the car is not in a garage but in a designated parking space outside my flat
Any thoughts?0 -
Try ringing the companies on the google return I posted and see whether they will offer cover without a garage. If they cannot then your option would be to rent a garage.
(Laid up policies are very cheap so the saving you make may help pay towards renting a garage)0 -

It appears from making a few phonecalls this afternoon that is not an option
you have to hold a licence
the only option is to find a garage/secure area to store the car in and take out a laid up policy
Thanks anyway0
